Our criminal justice system is truly remarkable in that the State has the complete burden of proving a defendant’s guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. That means that it is up to the government to prove each and every element of the offense that the defendant is charged with - whether its a DUI, shop-lifting, or assault. This applies to petty offenses such as a speeding tickets as well as felonies.

Attorney Danelle Wozniak has worked for the Kane County State’s Attorney’s Office, and has prosecuted traffic and misdemeanor cases with insight into how the prosecution considers and approaches some cases.
